Joyous Supporters Greet Imam Mohammad Qatanani
A prominent Muslim cleric, celebrated for his moderation by supporters but accused of ties to a terrorist group by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, today won his bid to call the United States his permanent home.

Arizona Called 'Ground Zero' In Immigration Fight
As of Aug. 19, agents in the Tucson sector had made 291,000 apprehensions vs. nearly 349,000 through the same date last year.

Lawyers Difficult to Obtain in Immigration Cases
Individuals in immigration court do not have the right to free representation. Though there are no local statistics on the number of people who appeared in immigration court without lawyers, 58% of respondents nationwide were unrepresented.

Nearly 2 Million Flee Hurricane Gustav
Authorities have ordered the evacuation of New Orleans and an estimated 1.9 million people along the Gulf coast have been heading inland. The Category Three storm is expected to make landfall at midday local time.
